BCHSBBA Coaching Super Clinic October 25 at St Thomas More
This years BCHSBBA Super Clinic will take place on the October 25 on the Provincial Pro D Day at St. Thomas More Collegiate (7450 12th Avenue Burnaby) We have some outstanding speakers and the full line-up is: 9am to 10am Timothy Rattan (Asst Coach, Strength & Conditioning for SFU Athletics) "Physical development for High School Basketball."  10am to 11:30am Tony Dominguez (Head Coach Western Washington University Men's Basketball) "Mental Toughness and Leadership on both sides of the ball."   11:30am to 12:30pm Phil Jalalpoor (Asst Coach UBC Men, 2020 Olympian for Iran men's BB Team) and Mackenzie Jalalpoor (Gratitude Coach, keynote speaker and owner of @aogwindsor)  "Gratitude in Action: Building Winning Habits and Dynamic Team Play." 12:30pm to 1:30pm lunch provided by BCHSBBA. 1:30pm to 3:00pm Ken Shields (1978-1989 U Vic Men's BB 7 X National Champions, 1990-1994 Canadian Men's National Coach) "Teaching the components of the modern game."

The BC High School Boys Basketball Association (BCHSBBA) is pleased to announce that we will continue our relationship with Baden Canada as they will now be the official sponsor for the Coach Goulet Grade 8 Basketball Championships, The Grade 9 Boys and Girls Invitational Tournaments and the Jr. Boys and Girls Invitational Tournaments.
"We are so fortunate to have an amazing sponsor in Baden Canada and we are very grateful for all their support," said BCHSBBA President, Aaron Mitchell. “Baden Canada is proud to continue the long-standing relationship with BCHSBBA. Baden Sports is built around the belief that the player should always come first and that remains a core value to us” The founder of Baden Sports had a signature phrase “remember, quality is important” and that continues to drive our approach to product and service ever day”. “We look forward to many more years of this partnership moving forward.”
 Baden has been a huge supporter of high school basketball in this Province contributing more than $500,000.00 over the past 15 years. They will contribute both financial support and product to each of the grade 8, 9 and Jr. level boys and girls' tournaments and will also continue their financial support of the BCHSBBA scholarship program which gives out over $10,000 in scholarships each year to graduating seniors.

2023 BCHSBBA All Star Game Reports

On Saturday April 20th STMC hosted the All-Star Saturday events and it was a great day of hoops. The day got started with the 1a vs 2a match and for the first time ever 1A defeated 2A 96-95 in what was an amazing back and forth game. Player of the game for 1A was Viv Francois from St. John's who led the way with 30 points, the highest total for anyone in both games. Loay Almahamid from Gidgalang Kuuyas Naay had 18 points and Ryder Vanderkooi of Unity Christian chipped in 14 points. 

The 3a / 4A matchup was a good one on paper and close at half with 4A leading 43-33. However the 4A group showed their dominance and were too much for 3A as they took the game 115-79.  4A Player of the game was Tamanawis own Sartaj Bhangu with 19 points, Arjun Hehar also from Tamanawis had 16, Thomas Beames from Oak Bay and Nylan Roberts from Yale both had 15. The Player of the game for 3A was St. Pat's Jovin Sunner, Dylan King from Lord Byng had 14 for the 3A squad.

The BC High School Boys Basketball Annual General Meeting will be held at 10:00am on Saturday March 9th in conference room B (4th floor) at the Langley Events Centre. All senior boys basketball coaches who submitted a roster to the Association bcboysbasketball.com are eligible to attend this meeting. There will be a continental breakfast served starting at 9:30am. We will be discussing many important topics (Agenda below)

Constitution and Bylaws passes unanimously

Thanks to all the coaches who attended our Extraordinary General Meeting on Oct 20th at STM. We are pleased to announce that our new constitution and bylaws passed unaniously. Remembr with this passing you can only become a member by sigining up on the BCHSBBA website with yoiur teams roster. Also if you put up a team photo you will be eligible for a draw for a $500 Pro D voucher for the clinic of your choice. Exciting times ahead for our 76 year old association.
